Rhinolith is a stone present in nasal cavity.The word is derived from roots rhino- and -lith which literally means “nose stone”.It is a uncommon medical emergency, not to be confused with dried nasal mucus.
Sign and symptoms
- Nasal obstruction
- Foul smelling, blood stained discharge
- Epistaxis
- Pain may occur due ulceration of surrounding mucosa
Management
They are removed under general anesthesia through anterior mares.
