Save makeup and your money

What’s the biggest problem for a girl who loves makeup? First of all, there isn’t enough time to use everything… but the big issue here is that all that spending really does add up.

Here are 3 beauty tricks that’ll help you save money!

1. Cut open your empty products

What’s the biggest mistake most girls are making with their beauty products? Prematurely throwing out products before using every single drop (as long as it’s not expired, of course). In this case, you’re quite literally tossing your money into the trash.

You could probably still get over a handful of uses from the products that you’re ready to throw out! You’ve just got to cut them open and scrape the sides and the bottom to get the remaining product into a container that’s easier to use.

For this purpose, it’s always a good idea to hold on to any mini jars or containers that you actually do finish up.

Tip: A new contact lens case is the perfect container to store remaining product when there isn’t that much left!

2. Add saline solution to liquid eyeliner or mascara

Extend the life of your liquid eyeliner or dried up mascara by adding a drop or two of saline solution to it. With this beauty hack, you’ll get over a handful of uses from the eyeliner or mascara that you’re ready to toss out. This hack is incredibly useful when you can’t even spare a minute to run to the store to get a replacement!

3. Buy the smaller version of a product

When it comes to your go-to beauty products, it might seem reasonable to splurge on the largest size options. But chances are that it might cost less if you just go with a smaller size. Why? Unit pricing.

Important tip:

The next time you’re buying makeup, take a look at whether the product comes in various sizes. If it does, check out how many oz/mL of product you get in each size option, and do some simple math to see which one actually costs less
